Karen People are an indigenous people to the Southeast Asian countries of Thailand and Myanmar. Karen ethnic group is made up of sub-groups; Pwo, Sgaw and Bwe-speakers. Around Seven millions Karens lives in Myanmar and 400,000 in the Thailand. All the sub-groups are counted together Karens constitute the third largest ethnic group in Myanmar. The religion of the Karen majority is Animism and Buddhism although there is a sizable population of Christians among the Karens. Christians constitute roughly 20% of the Karen population.
