Mawlamyine
Mawlamyine is the capital city of Mon State and third largest city of Myanmar. The city is located on the mouth of Thanlwin River. Mawlamyine is a major commercial center in lower part of Myanmar because of its location as a sea port city.
The city is famous for teaks mill, tropical fruits and tropical weather. It is also famous for colonial building and architecture, the city used to be capital of British Burma.
Rudyard Kipling's wrote about Mawlamyine in his poem "The Road to Mandalay":
"By the old Moulmein pagoda Lookin' lazy at the sea There's a Burma girl a-settin' and I know she thinks o' me".
